Chad Benjamin Borah, 29, of Gladstone, Virginia was taken home Monday, September 16, 2002 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. For the past seven years, he was the best friend and husband of Jessica Geers Borah. Born in Sioux Falls, SD, November 18, 1972, he was a son of Lesley Dean and Susan Peterson Borah of Dolton, SD. Chad was a 1995 graduate from Trinity International University where he earned his BA in music. As a saxophonist, he recorded two albums and performed in area churches and concerts. He was employed with Taylor Brothers Lumber Company and was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, Chad is survived by three children, Rebekah D. Borah, Scotland D. Borah and Elisabeth A. Borah and the arrival of his fourth child is anticipated later this month. Also surviving are; two brothers, Todd Borah of Sioux Falls and Avery Borah and wife Carol of Chattanooga, TN; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack and Dolores Geers, two brothers-in-law, Dean and wife Jan Geers and Parish and wife Connie Geers and a sister-in-law Dawn Gilson all of Michigan and his grandmothers, Marilyn Peterson, Wava Boonstra and Laura Geers. A service celebrating Chad's life was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2002 from Hyland Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Weiser officiating. Interment followed in Amherst Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, September 29th, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. from the Northland Community Church in McBain, Michigan.
