Jerry Dennis Fargis, age 79, died July 19, 2018 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County with family at his side.
A funeral service was held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 22, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Fargis was born July 13, 1939 to the late Howard and Matilda Sands Fargis. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Jerry was a former truck driver with Allied Van Lines.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janice Fargis of the home; three children, Amy Allen (Jerry) of Eden, Jerry Fargis (Donna Kingston) of Stoneville, Victoria Bateman (Joseph) of Morganton; mother of his children, Thelma Fargis of Eden; sister, Georgia Akers of Locke, NY; several nieces and nephews; two step-children and four step-grandchildren of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Sue Higgins, Dorothy Akers and Joann Baron.
