Gerzilla Lea Whitaker Leszcynski, 62, of Chicago, Ill., died Oct. 29, 1992, at Vencor Hosptial in Chicago.

She was born Nov. 4, 1929, at Vienna to Mark H. and Gertie May Burns Whitaker. She was married in St. Louis, to Leonard Leszcynski, who died in 1972.

Mrs. Leszcynski lived in the Chicago area for the past 40 years. She worked as a cartographer for Encyclopedia Britannica for many years.

Surviving her are two son, Charles M. Weber, Morton Grove, Ill., and Leonard Leszcynski of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Valeria Leszcynski of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Jim Whitaker of Rolla and Devere Whitaker of St. Clair; five sisters, Hazel Slack and Ardis Boss both of the state of California, Olive O'Dell of the state of Texas, Veta Baker of Oak Brook, Ill., and Colleen Chencinski of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with the Rev. Haskell Orrick officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
