She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Somerset, Ky. Her parents were Henry and Rhoda (Hollers) Dykes. She married Walter Stevens on Nov. 27, 1943, in Bloomington. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Robert Lee Stevens of Martinsville; a daughter, Cheryl Moore of Indianapolis; a brother, James Dykes of Alabama; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Kelley.
She was employed by Diamond Chain Co. in Indianapolis as a machine operator for 27 years, retiring in 1986. She attended Faith Deliverance Church in Franklin.
Services were entrusted to Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home of Greenwood, Indiana.
