Paul Raymond Newton, age 75, of Belleville, AR died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born September 21, 1934 at Lick Creek, IL to the late Alvin Clay and Nora Grammer Newton. He was a retired minister and History teacher, a member of Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church and retired Navy Officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Alean Elmore Newton.

Survivors include children, Ron Newton of Belleville, AR, Bob and Kim Newton of Pottsville, AR, Diana and Mark Griffith of New Ellenton, SC; grandchildren, David and Michael Newton, Jessica and Daniel Anderson, Scott and Nicole Sisk, Amy & Steve Bailey, Butch and Tracy Griffith and Amanda Griffith; great grandchildren Zachcry & J. D. Bailey, Chase, Hannah, Ethan, Mark, Aleah Griffith, Brooklyn & Doren Sisk; brother and sisters-in-law, Ethred & Louise Elmore and Rose Nell Reynolds of Belleville.

Funeral service will be held 10 a. m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Bland officiating. Burial will be at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery with Military Honors by Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 of Dardanelle. Memorials can be made to Miracle Outreach Ministries, 11329 Wilson Road, Belleville, AR 72824. Pallbearers include Daniel Anderson, Scott Sisk, David & Michael Newton, Bradley and Bruce Bland.
