Marie was born in Wagoner, I.T. to Omer H. and Nettie G. Ellington. Marie grew up in the Wagoner and Muskogee area where she attended public school before graduating from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri and Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Marie returned to Muskogee where she taught music at Houston Elementary school for several years. She married James D. Booth on August 29, 1934 and they moved to Tulsa where she spent the rest of her life. Marie was active in a variety of organizations, and served on the board of Tulsa Children's Home and Welfare Association. She loved to participate in events with her many friends, and to entertain in her home. She is survived by a niece and other relatives.
