She was the daughter of George and Missouri Green Hunt.

Mrs. Laura Neathery, 86 of Hartshorne died Thursday, August 23, 1990 at McAlester Regional Hospital. Funeral services were at 10AM Saturday, August 25, 1990 at Mills Chapel in Hartshorne, with Rev. Chester Platt officiating. Interment was at Gowen Cemetery, under the direction of Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Mrs. Neathery was born February 7, 1904 at Blaine, the daughter of George and Missouri Green Hunt. She moved to Hartshorne in 1964. Her husband, William Lee Neathery, preceded her in death in December, 1974. Survivors include: three sons. Paul Neathery of Hartshorne, Roy Neathery of McAlester and Clifton Neathery of Okmulgee; four daughters, Willie Padilla of Steele, Alabama, Pauline Padilla of McAlester, Tee Anna Bishop of Arvada, Colorado and Laura Mae Trussell of Charlotte, North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were: Roy and Clifton Neathery, Junior Padilla, Brad Slape, Sharon De Lisa and Charlene Neathery.
