Jack E. Bozard of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away July 16, 2018 at home.

Jack was born July 16, 1930 in Calhoun County, SC to the late Edgar William and Jeffie Austin Bozard. He was the middle child of six children and was the husband of Faye Blair Bozard for 56 years before her passing in 2010.

He joined the South Carolina Army National Guard in 1948 and retired in 1990. In 2010, Jack was entered into the National Guard Warrant Officer Hall of Fame. He received twelve additional medals of Honor. In 1991, he was recalled for active duty in the Army to support the families of the 251st RAOC Unit for Desert Storm.

Jack also worked at First Presbyterian Church of Columbia for 20 years. He worked with the Civil Service from 1952 until 2009.

He was a faithful member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church since 1958. Jack also coached Little League Baseball for four years.

Surviving are two sons; two grandsons; one great granddaughter; and, three sisters. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Dority and Judy Wilson.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Ave, West Columbia, SC 29169. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family.
