Fred G. Holznagel, 73, 611 South Mill street, died early Monday in Redwood Falls hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in First United Methodist church here. Rev. J. Wesley Johnston will officiate and Mrs. B. E. Marsh will be organist. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ramey will sing.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Voelz, Elbert Bishop, Ivan Lord, Vince Bestick, Leal Milbradt and Glenn Tainter. Interment will be in Redwood Falls cemetery. Friends may call at Hoepner Funeral Home this evening and at the church from Wednesday noon until time of the service.
Mr. Holznagel was born August 25, 1893 in Charlestown township, a son of Louis and Emma Jacobs Holznagel. He attended school while living in Sanborn and served three years in the navy during World War I. He married Mildred Otto in Redwood Falls September 28, 1923. He worked as a brakeman for Chicago and North Western railroad eight years before going into the produce business, in which he was active until 1952 when he retired.
Survivors include his wife and a sister, Mrs. John (Tena) Shafer, Sioux Falls. Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
