Mary Lillian Fenton, age 87, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at her home.
Lillian was born on January 15, 1931, in rural Moravia, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Roma (Foster) Tomlin. She graduated from Moravia High School as Valedictorian, with the Class of 1949. On May 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lynn Fenton in Vincent, Iowa. From this union, four children were born, Lonnie, Linda, Ronnie, and Diana.
Lillian enjoyed working in the yard, especially with her flowers. She was a great seamstress, making dresses and other items for special events for her family and friends. She would also do furniture upholstery. Lillian was very fond of playing the piano. She was a member of the Albia Baptist Temple.
Left to cherish Lillian’s memory are her husband, Lynn Fenton of Centerville; her children, Linda (John) Sulser of Jerome, and Diana (Jeff) Wells of Jerome; her brother, Dean (Wanda) Tomlin of Moravia; six grandchildren, Jared (Tina) Sulser, David (Tynne) Sulser, Nick (Karla) Sulser, Mindy (Ty) Doggett, Maggie (Cody) Lindsey, Mitchell (Kelsey) Wells; as well as eleven great grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Roma Tomlin; and two sons, Ronnie and Lonnie Fenton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with Pastor Brian Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Brushy Cemetery near Plano. A memorial has been established to the family of Lillian Fenton, to be designated at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
