The 1880 Census shows Jacob living in Cincinnati with parents Jacob & Catherine from Baden, Germany, and brothers John and Frank
The 1910 Census shows Sophia living with her father, married (3rd time), 2 children, no children living, and no husband present.
I'm not sure if this is the same husband but there is a Jacob Hounsz found on several city directories living in Cincinnati as are brothers John & Frank. The 1920 Census shows Jacob living in Cincinnati, married, no wife present. The 1940 Census shows Jacob living in Hamilton County, OH, widowed. The transcription of the 1940 Census shows Jacob's race as "Negro (Black)", but the photo shows it crossed out with a "W" written over it.
