Eugene J. BOUGHTER (1925 - 2018)

Eugene John Boughter "Gene" was born on May 11th, 1925 in Aberdeen, WA, died on July 7th, 2018 at home with his family in Spokane, WA. He was a lifelong resident of Washington State. He served in the Navy as an Electrician's Mate during World War II in the Pacific Fleet where he was honorably discharged from his last duty station, a sea-going barge, awaiting the invasion of the Japanese island.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Boughter, and his second wife Nita Boughter and his third wife Ann Root, his son Jerry Boughter and his step-son Lou Vanderburg, his sisters Emma, Grace, his step-sisters Minnie and Maude.

He is survived by his sister Betty Hagman; his brother-in-law Don Miller; his sons Jack, Joe, Jay, Jeffry and Jeno; his daughters Jan and Jessie; his step-children Nita, Maria, David, Connie and Sandy; over 40 grandchildren, a myriad of cousins, nephews, nieces and all their children.

He was a life member of VFW Post 51, The Fraternal Order of Eagles #2.

He loved dancing, fishing, travel and meeting new people. There was always a cup of coffee for anyone who stopped by for a visit. We will miss you.

Services will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division St, Spokane, WA, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 1100 hours, followed by interment services with military honors at Greenwood Memorial Terrace (southwest corner) and a gathering at VFW Post 51.
