Our obituary . column on Thursday contained notice of the death of another of Taranaki old identities — Mrs John Putt, widow of the late Mr John Putt, for many years a resident at Omata. Mrs Putt, who was a daughter of- tho late .Mr Joseph Hart, came to New Plymouth with her parents in the Timandra, arriving on February 24th, 1842, and was counsequently a fellow passenger with Mr Samuel Joll, who died at Waitara on Tuesday. Her husband died about four years ago, and it is just a year since her father, who lived to the ripe old age of 91, was laid in his last resting place Mrs Putt leaves a family of twelve to mourn their loss, eight sons and four daughters, besides 30 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
