Mary is not on the 1870 census. There is another daughter listed on the 1870 census born in 1862, Anna Rebecca Beall. For this reason, I believe Mary died between 1862 and 1870. Henry Beall, who was listed as 1 on the 1860 census, is also missing from the 1870 census. I have not been able to locate Mary or Henry’s grave. On the 1870 census, William has listed as his wife, Catherine Beall. There is a record on July 12, 1870 for a marriage between William Thomas Bell and Catherine Elizabeth Kennedy Rider (widow to John Henry Rider who died in 1864. Catherine also had a son, Charles Henry Rider who had died in 1862).

I believe William Beall is buried in Mt Olivet Cemetery and is Memorial ID, 117166546. I was able to find William’s obituary and it unfortunately gave no information as to survivors other than to say he was survived by a wife but it did mention he died at his residence in Bartonsville which is in the New Market Area (Lake Linganore). I hope to research further to prove or disprove this is the correct William. I have not been able to locate graves or obituaries for Catherine or her parents, David Kennedy and Annie E. Smith Kennedy. David Kennedy does appear in the same household as William and Catherine Beall in the 1880 census, along with an unknown boy of 6, James Webster. I have identified two siblings of William's 2nd wife, Catherine, which includes David Kennedy and Harriet Kennedy Mackley. David died in 1908 and Catherine was not listed as a survivor so I suspect she died between 1898 to 1908, most likely in Frederick County. I have not been able to locate her on a 1900 census record.

Beall is pronounced “Bell”.
