Glen is the eleventh of twelve children born to James Israel Clark and Ann Penelope Thompson. The family moved from Cache Valley, Utah in Glen's youth to Teton Valley, Idaho and then to Teton City.

Glen did not marry. On June 5, 1917 he registered for the World War I draft. He was 29 years old, living in Teton, Idaho and was a farmer. He was the head of a household that included his mother and youngest sister. The registration card notes that Glen is medium tall with medium build. He has gray eyes and light brown hair.

Glen continued to maintain the home for his mother until her death in 1932. On the 1940 Census he is living alone in Teton. He was visiting family in Idaho Falls when he was struck with a heart attack. He died in an Idaho Falls hospital at age 65.
