William M Collins was the son of Shadrack Collins and Mary Pounds. He was born in South Carolina, one of ten known children. William married Margaret Ellison Pounds November 27, 1831 in Hinds County, Mississippi. They were the parents of eight children, the third of which was my great grandfather William Newton Collins/aka/Andrew William Collvins.
