Phyllis J. Meese, 93, of Ord passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at her home north of Ord.
Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Reverend Stefanie Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis Joy was born January 25, 1925 at Ord, Nebraska to Edward and Arline (Rawles) Hansen. She was raised on the family farm northeast of Ord and received her early education at Brick School and graduated from Ord High School in 1942.
On September 19, 1942, Phyllis was united in marriage to James A. Meese, Jr. at Ord, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm north of Ord. Phyllis loved the farm life and living on the farm. Mr. Meese passed away on April 30, 1994.
Phyllis enjoyed gardening, dancing and playing cards. In her earlier years she attended neighborhood clubs and card parties. Her biggest joys were her grandchildren and her home.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Don Schaaf and Linda Mossburg all of Omaha, NE, and Judy and Dave Krecklow of Waterloo, NE; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7
great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Carl Osentowski of Waterloo, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and a brother, Rollie Hansen.
