The children of Nathaniel and Susan include: Mary Eliza (1857-1937), Henry Elsworth "Colonel" (1866-1926), Thomas Edward (1870-1943), Dessie Hays (1876-1951) and Charles Everett (1878-1948). Henry, Dessie and Charles are buried in Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO with their mother and many of the family.
Nathaniel is a brother of Solomon Hayes Wilson, who also moved from Monroe County, Tennessee. He settled in Dade County, Missouri and lived at Hampton and Everton. Solomon's children called their uncle Nathaniel "Uncle Than."
