Grant owned and operated Joliet Butter Co. for over 40 years. He retired from KeHE Distributors, Romeoville at the age of 72.
He was an avid Master Gardener in the Illinois Extension Office in Henry. He was a member of the Putnam Christian Church. He enjoyed many activities with friends and family.
Grant and Joan enjoyed retirement in Lake Wildwood, before returning to the Joliet Area. They also enjoyed their time at Senior Star.
His family will miss him dearly.

(Irene) Goolsby; great grandchildren Karina and Kirk Jr.; grandson Grant N. (Amy) Goolsby; great grandchildren Lainey, Cole and Carter; great-great grandchild Jaxon Michael Spignor; son Robert G. (Ann Meyers); granddaughters Kathryn Goolsby and Carol (Dave) Michalski; great grandchild Lochlain Hyland Goolsby; daughter Peggy Ann (Joseph J.) Parthun; grandson James J. (Kerri) Parthun; great grandchild Zachary J. Parthun; grandson Daniel M. (Karissa) Parthun; great grandchild Ruth Louise Parthun; daughter Sally Ann (Jeffrey) Seeger; grandson Jeffrey Maxwell (Emily) Seeger and granddaughter Charlene Rose Marie Seeger; three sisters-in-law Mary Goolsby, Judith (Mike) Buell; and Thelma Rhind. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Joan R. (Rhind) Goolsby, his parents Granville "Grant" Goolsby Sr. and Lexie (Wilkenson) Goolsby; three sisters Juanita, Wanda and Shirley and one brother William Goolsby.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
