Karen Joy Asay Peterson, 73, of Orem, Utah passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018. She was born February 25, 1945 in Murray, Utah to Seth Burns Asay and Lora Alverda Johnstun Asay. She married Henry Frands Peterson on December 18, 1964 in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1999.

Karen enjoyed reading, playing games and spending time with her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and some of her favorite callings were: playing the piano, scouting, and indexing/geneology.

Karen is survived by her eight children: Sabrina (Greg) Waterhouse of Orem, Utah; Eric (Lisa) Peterson of Smithfield, UT; Matt Peterson of Orem, Utah; Kimberly (Warren) Matlock of Orem, Utah; Tammy (Chris) Chilcoat of Spanish Fork, Utah; Tiffany Peterson of Colorado; Chad (Kristi) Peterson of Spanish Fork, Utah; Todd Peterson of Colombia, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren; her siblings, Carma Harding, Owen (Betsy) Asay, Deanne Eldredge, David (Donna) Asay, Utahna Versluis, Becky (Norm) McClellan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sherman Asay, and her sister, Betty Steinfeldt.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00am in the LDS chapel located at 155 W 1600 S Orem, Utah. The burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
