Verna Marie Purdy, 98, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Lavender Ridge in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice Southern Illinois.
