Jean Yancey Pilgrim, was born in Bradenton, FL on June 28, 1951. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2018, after a long battle with Health Issues. Jean was dearly loved and will be missed by family and many friends. She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters Corinne (Tim) Tramel of Venice; Rebecca (Shawn) Gubody of North Port, three cherished grandchildren, Christopher Yancey, Rachel Tramel and Austin Gubody, one great grandson, Matthew Yancey and her mother, Darla Yancey Kizer. She is also survived by two sisters, Kathie (Jimmie) Driggers, and Susan (Ted) Comes of Myakka City, along with her two brothers, Daniel Yancey of Myakka City and L. David (Anita) Yancey of Sumterville, FL. She was predeceased by her father, Lester C. Yancey in 1986. Other survivors include 8 nieces, 2 nephews, 5 nieces, two aunts, and many cousins.
Jean received her education at Myakka City Elementary School, graduated from Southeast High School, and attended Kaiser College. She received her Cosmetology license from Bradenton Beauty Academy. She later worked 25 plus years at Publix where she was a cashier and served in other departments. She was friendly, popular and outgoing. She made many friends as she served the public. Her church membership was at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church where she faithfully attended. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Wiegand Brothers Funeral
