Roy entered the United States Army in 1944 at the age of 18. He served his Country Proudly, retiring with many honors in 1963. He continued in the service of his Lord through Gideon International, spreading his Evangelical Christian Faith. Roy was a tireless crusader for his Country and his Lord. He also served as Past Grand Master of Masonic Lodge #167. Roy was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Larue Butler, three sons, Brant Butler, Joe Columbia, and Jim Columbia; a brother, Floyd Butler (Anita); four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Preceded in death was two sisters, Alene Butler and Elizabeth Butler Carter, three brothers, Gene Butler, Raymond Butler and Tommy Butler.

Visitation Services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 12 PM until Funeral Service at 1 PM followed with Burial all at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park - East.
