Carolyn Sue Armstrong, age 80, of Tyler, passed away on July 7, 2018.
Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Dale Perry on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Interment will be at Tyler Memorial Park.
She was born in Gilmer, Texas June 23, 1938 to Tollie Marion Griffith and Onie Oliver Griffith. Carolyn married George Y. Armstrong on August 28, 1954 in Hallsville. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. Carolyn enjoyed shopping for antiques and going to the Canton Flea Market. She loved gardening, fishing, golf, and activities with her children and family, particularly the Holidays.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, James Armstrong of Houston, and Michael Armstrong and wife Cindy of Tyler; daughter, Susan Waller and husband Dennis of Tyler; grandchildren: Niki Salzillo of Canyon Lake, Jeff Armstrong of Gladewater, Mary Posey of Tyler, Stephanie Miller of Austin, and Joni Hammett of Gladewater; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Ernestine Hill and husband Claude of DeSoto.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years George Y. Armstrong; 1 son Johnny Armstrong; 2 Sisters, Anna Jo Griffith, and Halcyon Jeannett Griffith; and 1 brother, Tollie Marion Griffith.
Pallbearers: Charles Hill, Steve Hill, Bill Kirk, Alex Conrad, Terry Cochran, Jeff Armstrong, Daniel Posey, and Cameron Armstrong.
