Please note that the name is spelt a number of ways. According to a direct descendant when Ellen died her daughter Molly was only about 5 months old and was put in a catholic orphanage home. Molly's brother Eric James Patrick (1929-1935), passed away at the age of 6 and is buried on top of Ellen. Ellen & John also had a son, William John Kenny, (1916-1986)

Ellen's parents were Frans Gustave 'Frank' Magnusson (1861-1936), buried Clareville, Carterton & Mary Ann Fisher (1873-1898), buried Tinui, Wairarapa
Her father Frank was in the service of the Wellington Education Board and the school teacher at Whakataki, Wairarapa and Mary Ann was the Postmistress there at the time of her death. After Mary's death Frank moved to Masterton where he was appointed assistant town clerk of Masterton. Frank remarried in 1899

Ellen's brother, Eric Robert Howard Magnusson (1895-1937), was also born in Whakataki and is also buried in Clareville
