Nancy Sue Flournoy 93, of Abilene, passed away, Friday, July 6, 2018 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 9, 2018 in Elmwood Memorial Park with Rev. David Cason officiating, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. ~ 4:00 P.M. in North’s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St.
Mrs. Flournoy was born February 1, 1925 in Abilene, Texas to Artelius and Mary (Gibson) Cole.
After WWII, she married Truman Flournoy and had three wonderful children.
She was a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church in Abilene and later the University Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.
She loved to fish and read. She made the best cornbread and buttermilk pie.
She had a very bubbly, wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Ted Flournoy and wife Merlene, Susan DeLong and husband Jeff and Van Flournoy and wife Janet. Grandchildren, Brandon Flournoy and wife ChaRhonda, Bryan Flournoy and wife Larissa, Truman Delong, Sam DeLong, David Elkins, Virgil Flournoy, Misty Elkins, AB Flournoy, Sydny Larsen and husband Jordon. Great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Flournoy, Corbin and Breanna Flournoy, Dante Elkins and Francia Flournoy.
