Ron L. Horton, age 56, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at his home.

He was born on November 12, 1961 in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of Loyce and Betty (Reid) Horton.

He was a member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War. He was an aircraft mechanic as a civilian and a helicopter mechanic in the military. He was a very active member of AA.

He is survived by his wife, Candy (Heidrich) Horton whom he married on October 11, 1986; three sons, Cody Horton of Greenfield, Josh (Chelsea Cox) Horton of Jeffersonville, and Jonathon Horton of Cincinnati; one sister, Virginia Horton of Modesto, CA; one brother-in-law, John Stewart of Salt Lake UT; one niece, Shelly (Joe) Amador of Modesto, CA; three great-nephews, Cory and Anthony Amador both of Modesto, CA, and Jesse Mitchell of OK; one aunt, Mary Davis of Ceres, CA; one uncle, Carl (Ellen) Reid of Northern CA.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Johnnie Stewart; one nephew, Carl Mitchell and both parents.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 10 at the Greenfield First United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilboa Cemetery with military rites to be accorded by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.

Visitation will be from noon Tuesday until time of the service at the church with Veterans Appreciation Service to begin at 2:00 P.M.
