Her obituary published 27 August 2004 in The Times Colonist reads as follows: "SAARE Margaret August 22, 1908 - August 22, 2004. The children of the late Margaret (Albion) Saare sadly announce the passing of their mother Margaret on the day of her 96th birthday, August 22nd. Mom was raised and educated in Beverly (now Edmonton) Alberta. She attended Normal School in Victoria, where she obtained her certification in teaching, and taught in Boundary Falls and Proctor BC. Her second career was at the Rossland Miner newspaper, where she became Editor. Mom was a kind and gentle soul who lived for her family. Predeceased by her son Don in 1971; husband Bob in 1979; and daughter Robin in 2002, she is survived by her three children (names edited out for privacy reasons). She also leaves her brother (name edited out for privacy reasons), 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mom's long and wonderful life will be held on Saturday, August 28th at 1:00 P.M. at Cadboro Bay United Church, 2625 Arbutus Rd. In lieu of flowers, Mom had requested donations be made to the Victoria Talking Books Library or the Victoria Hospice Society."
