Granville was one of the most popular leading men in Broadway musical comedies. His first major success was in Chicago and from there he appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies at the Winter Garden. He was an extremely excellent dancer and had a wonderful tenor voice. He retired from the theatre in the early 1930's to work in insurance.
