Lula Hankins

ABBEVILLE Lula Katherine Kyle Hankins, 79, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was a retired waitress for the Peabody Hotel and a member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville. She was the widow of George Ordway Hankins.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford with the Rev. Randy Hope officiating. Burial will be in Abbeville Cemetery.

Survivors include four daughters, Carole Bensch, Dorothy Crowder and Anita Moore, all of Abbeville, and Linda Moore of Wells, Nev.; four sons, Gerald Hankins, Bobby Hankins, Richard Hankins and Byron Hankins, all of Abbeville; four sisters, Mary Tabor and Donna Bishop, both of Abbeville, and Marie Kuffel and Peggy Ann Vesley, both of South Carolina; two brothers, Arvey Kyle and Kenneth Kyle, both of Nevada; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Thomas M. Hankins; a sister, Thelma Green; and a brother, Arthur Kyle.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
