DALLAS IDALEE WELCH was born July 5, 1917 in Speedwell, Claiborne County, Tennessee; the daughter of Charles Oscar Welch and Susan Ann Riley; granddaughter of Willis Greene Welch, and 2nd wife, Martha Sharp, and Thomas Riley, and 2nd wife, Elizabeth Catherine Norton. Dallas was preceeded in death by her parents, Charlie & Ann; her beloved husband of 38 years, Claude Sowder; her special, most beloved niece, Helen (Treadway) Boling; and all of her siblings: Mary Magdeline (Welch) Leach; Luther Greene Welch; Ethel Mae (Welch) Malonee; Emma Sue (Welch) Brackett; Myrtle Effie (Welch) Treadway Beeler; and John Horace Welch.

Dallas, and her beloved husband, Claude, had no children of their own but they were greatly loved by all their nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Dallas was lovingly cared for for many years by her dearest niece, Helen. In her last years Dallas was tenderly cared for by her favorite great niece (and namesake of her husband), Claudia.

Dallas was a fun-loving, outgoing, outdoors person; who loved fishing and hunting. In her late 60's she was even prone to riding a motorcyle. A classy, beautiful lady throughout her life, Dallas will be sadly missed by all those who knew, and loved her.

Dallas was member of Faith Way Assembly of God Church in LaFollette, Campbell County, Tennessee.

Aunt Dallas, your humor, grace, and love will never be forgotten. God has called you home to be with Mother and Momma. What a reunion heaven has seen! We will all join you soon.
