Marvell H. Ahrendt, who lived all his life in Clark County, died of complications of prostate cancer and diabetes June 13, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 82.
Mr. Ahrendt was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Camas.
A World War II veteran, he was one of Carborundum Co.'s
first employees. He retired after 35 years.
Mr. Ahrendt loved fishing and was an artistic craftsman.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary K., at home; two daughters, Geraldine Mackie of Graham and Sally Wooden of Stockton, Calif.; four sons, Marvin Ahrendt of Vancouver, Bill Barnett of Logan, Utah, Glenn Barnett of Pella, Iowa, and Allan Martin of Portland; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwest Washington Humane Society, 2121 St. Francis Lane, Vancouver, WA 98660.
