Gene N. Anderson, Lake Station, age 83, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at his residence. He has been a Lake Station resident since 1948 moving here from Ingram, Wisconsin. He served his country during World War II in the Navy, and was retired from Central Wisconsin Transport, Chicago where he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Teamsters #742, V.F.W. Post #1563, American Legion Post #260, Moose Lodge #783, Sportsman's Club, and was a former member of Eagles Lodge. He will be remembered by his family as a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Gene is survived by his son, Wayne (Bettie) Anderson of Valparaiso; daughter Frances (Walter) Trembicki of Portage; daughter-in-law, Judy Anderson of Wisconsin; and brothers, Dale (Helen)Anderson of Wisconsin, Elmer (Delores) Anders of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elsie; parents, Alvin and Vera Anderson; son Larry Anderson; sister Nina White. Funeral services wil be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Rev. Timothy Engel, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, with a Legion service at 7:00 p.m., at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.

Gene is the son of Alvin Peter & Vera Beatrice (Mitchell) Anderson. Gene married Elsie Dost on Jan 25, 1941. Military service: Bet. 1944-1946, Navy
