Newton I. Russell, 52, Route 3, Rogersville, died Tuesday, November 17, after apparently suffering a heart attack. He had been a barber in Kingsport for the past two years.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Fain Russell; one daughter, Mrs. Lisa Way, Rogersville; two sons, Rick and David Russell, both of Rogersville; five grandchildren; his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. T. R. Russell, Rogersville; six brothers, Ralph and Dewey Russell, both of Rogersville, Claude and Carl Russell, both of Surgoinsville, Emory Russell, Church Hill, and Ken Russell, Kingsport; one sister, Mrs. Effie Greer, Surgoinsville.
Services were held Thursday from Colboch-Price Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denise Hilton and the Rev. William Harris officiating. Burial followed in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
