Martha Jane Pool was born March 2, 1865, and departed this life Oct. 21, 1914. Funeral services were held at the home by Rev. Richards of Crescent. She was a devoted wife and a Christian mother. She leaves a husband and five children, a mother, four sisters, and five brothers besides a host of friends to morn her loss.

Grand Mother Pool, who lived on the Gus Friend place, was stricken with heart disease on Tuesday night and died in a few minutes. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Henry Richards. Interment Wednesday evening in the Acton cemetery.
