B. Dorwin "Rags" Conaway, 87, of Fairmont, passed from this life peacefully in his sleep Tuesday (Aug. 30, 2016). He was born in Brave, Pennsylvania, on April 12, 1929, a son of the late Daniel R. and Mary E. Wise Conaway.

He was Catholic by faith. He was a coal miner for several years and last served a fire boss with Consolidation Coal Co. He was a member or the UMW District 31.

Rags loved to drive and trade cars. He enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales and watching westerns on television.

Mr. Conaway is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathryn Pienkos Conaway; one daughter, Anna and her husband Stephen Mayers of Salem; two sons, Terry "T.C." and his wife Cathy Conaway of Fairview and B.D. "Chip" Conaway Jr. of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Casey Conaway, Larry "Smoke" (Crisy) Conaway, Jason (Annie) Conaway, Devin Mayers, Noah Mayers, Jacob Custer and Sierra Custer; one daughter-in-law, Pam Conaway; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Conaway; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Lawrence Chicarelli; nine brothers; and two sisters.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Dorwin had requested cremation as his method of final disposition. Family will have private services at a later date. Professional services are provided by the Frey Home for Funerals.
