Frances E. Curbox, 97, of Monticello, passed away at 11:56 AM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at White Oak Health Campus.

She was born on May 21, 1921 in Pulaski County to the late William E. and Merle (Roach) Vories. On May 21, 1940, she married Brooks C. Curbox in Monticello and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1998.

Frances was a 1939 graduate of Delphi High School and was primarily a homemaker. She and her husband farmed for many years. When Brooks retired from RCA, they also retired from farming.

Fran was a member of Calvary Temple and the Jolly Unison Home Economics Club.

She enjoyed sewing, water color and oil painting, and working in her flower garden. Frances was devoted to her family, friends and her church.

She is survived by one son; one son-in-law; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Judith K. Geier; and five siblings, Jesse Vories, Robert Vories, Esther Vories, Dorothy Schmidt and Zelma Ogden.

Private family funeral services will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, where Frances will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
