Vella Durrant July 17, 1939 - June 5, 2018 Vella D. Heaps Durrant passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, June 5, 2018. She was born July 17, 1939. She is the daughter of Donna Gittins Teany and Albert and Donna Heaps. She attended Summit Elementary, North Cache Middle School and graduated from Preston High School in Idaho.

Vella married her sweetheart, Blaine Durrant, on June 20, 1958, in the Logan LDS Temple. They were the parents of four children who loved them dearly.

Vella worked in the Lewiston Drug Store and in the Hamilton Drug Store in Gerome, Idaho. She will be best remembered for her countless years as the Lewiston librarian. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving with the Young Women and as the Relief Society president in her ward. Later in life, she and Blaine served a mission at the Richmond Seminary with the special needs youth.

Vella loved life and loved to laugh. Her smile was infectious. Everyone loved to be around her, and she made everyone feel special and loved.

She is preceded in death by two infant sons, her parents: Donna Gittins Teany, Albert and Donna Heaps, her in-laws: Thomas and Norma Durrant, and by her sisters: Shirley (Steve) Gracek, Alberta (Maurice-deceased) Mather and Faye Skablund. She is survived by her husband, Blaine Durrant, her children: Sue (Kurt) Mitton, Bob (Bev) Durrant, Darren (Tanya) Durrant, Steven Durrant, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her siblings: Mary (Sam-deceased) Ritter, Maureen (Carlos) Elwood, Nancy (Don) Hobbs, Carol (Ken) Smith , Kent (Mary Lou) Heaps and Kevin (Chris) Heaps.

The family would like to express its gratitude to Rocky Mountain Hospice and Rocky Mountain Care.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Lewiston 4th Ward building, 16 S. Main St., in Lewiston, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East, in Preston, Idaho, and prior to services Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Lewiston Cemetery.
