H/O Esther (Fischer) Markley. The Markley's had, according to the 1860 census (surname was spelled MARTZ) 7 children. The three listed that I have no information on were James b. abt. 1854; Fanny b. abt. 1857; and Catherine b. abt. 1859. They were not listed on the 1870 census so assumed all three died between 1860 and 1870. Joseph was a Democrat and of the Lutheran faith. He and his family moved to Minnesota in 1876.
