Rebecca (Titsworth) Wood was the first wife of Capt. Rev. Reuben Richardson Wood (they married in 1843). When she died in 1853, Rev. Wood had been assigned for a brief time at the "Methodist Church in the Madison District of Monroe, Wisconsin". Greenwood Cemetery is a possible location for her burial, along with their six -year-old son, John J. Wood (1846-1853). Per Find-A-Grave website - "Rebecca and her son, John, were re-buried at Lena Burial Park, Lena (Stephenson County), Illinois, in 1896" (43 years after first burial), probably at the request of her sister, Martha Jane (Titsworth) McFatrich. Rebecca and her son John were probably originally buried somewhere in/near Monroe, Wisconsin (where they died)." 1896 was the year that Martha Jane's husband, James McFatrich, died, so this writer's assumption is that Martha Jane purchased a number of plots for her husband and other family members; then requested the reburials. (In 1876, Rev. Wood and his second wife, Sarah Ann Titsworth Wood, Rebecca's sister - moved on to Iowa where they resided to rest of their lives.) There are no grave markers for them at Lena Burial Park. Written by Norma Clack, Reuben Richardson Wood's GG-Granddaughter. (6/23/2018)
