Leslie R. "Les" Pratt, 87, of Redwood Falls died Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Redwood Area Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.

Leslie Raymond Pratt, the son of Frank and Sophia (Babcock) Pratt, was born July 24, 1917 in Redwood County. He resided with his family in Redwood County and attended Redwood County country schools. After his education, Les worked various jobs in the area.

On July 24, 1942, Les married Erma Roush in Morton. Les and Erma were life-long residents of Redwood Falls. After their marriage, he operated the Skelley Station in town, also having other places of employment. Les worked many years at Coast to Coast, retiring in 1982. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church where he was a charter member of the Methadults and served as usher and Sunday school secretary.

Les' hobbies were repairing bikes and taking repaired bikes and donating them to church camps such as Decision Hills. His other interests included square dancing, old-time music, and his small collection of concertinas. Les enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives, spending time with his family and traveling the United States.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Erma of Redwood Falls; daughters Carla Erpelding and husband Ray of Minneapolis, Karyl Beeman and husband Jeff of Minneapolis, Janet Selim of Minneapolis, Joyce Schwarzrock and husband Dennis of Springfield, and Marlys Skoblik and husband Jerry of Redwood Falls; eight grandchildren: Lindsey Beeman Bunting (and husband Dave), Brian, Eric (and financé Kristin Rost), Kyle and Christina Schwarzrock, and David, Emily and Benjamin Skoblik; step-grandchildren Caroline (and husband Joe Hendren), and Anne Betland; great-granddaughter Layla Schwarzrock; step-great-grandchildren Amanda and Blake Betland, Drake and Grant Hendren. Also surviving is a sister Helen Blomgren of Plymouth; a brother Lewis Pratt of Redwood Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Les was preceded in death by his brothers Harry, Harold, Jim and Charles.
