Edna Lenora Stephens Franklin, resident of McCrory, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from the Unity Health-White County Medical Center of Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 77. She was born in Cross County on May 7, 1941, the daughter of the late Ed and Nora Crouch Stephens.
Mrs. Franklin married Mr. Wayne Franklin on October 3, 1959 and they spent over 58 wonderful years together. She was of the Assembly of God faith and taught adult Sunday school class for over 43 years. In earlier years, she worked for Kennon’s Dairy Bar. She had a tremendous love for her family and loved to cook for them. Mrs. Franklin enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales and working in her flower garden with her favorite being her rose bushes. Her greatest enjoyment was listening to gospel music while reading and studying her Bible.
Mrs. Franklin is preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Morgan, four brothers, Billy Stephens, Donald Stephens, Floyd Humphrey, Bud Humphrey, two sisters, Nadine Ferguson, Micky Bolner.
Mrs. Franklin is survived by her husband, Wayne Franklin of McCrory, Arkansas, three sons, Darrell Franklin and wife Louise of Wynne, Arkansas, Terry Franklin and wife Debbie of Forrest City, Arkansas, Marty Franklin of McCrory, Arkansas, two daughters, Becky Mitchell and husband Larry of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Jennifer Perry and husband Norris of McCrory, Arkansas, one brother, Everett Mason of Chicago, Illinois, two sisters, Opal Colinger of Marianna, Arkansas, Wanda Fraze of West Helena, Arkansas, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Trucker Beshears, Jamie Franklin, Matt Franklin, Tom Jackson, Holbrook Mitchell and Josh Mitchell.
