Shirley Alice (Beck) Mulhollan, 86, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

She was born on June 16, 1932, to the late Clarence and Helen (McGranor) Beck in Reynoldsville, PA. She attended school in Reynoldsville, PA.

Shirley went on to marry Darwin A. Mulhollan on April 19, 1952, in Reynoldsville, PA, who preceded her in death on July 7, 1978.

She worked for many years at Cameron but spent most of her time as a homemaker. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church located in Reynoldsville, PA. She was a talented singer and would sing solos in church.

She loved to travel with her husband as he went around to each job site. She especially enjoyed being able to see the Space Needle in Seattle, WA. They were both able to take their family all across the country on vacations while spending time and making memories together. After Darwin’s passing, she continued to travel with her family.

Shirley also enjoyed shopping whether she was looking, buying, or just being in the store. She enjoyed watching tv, especially NASCAR when her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Sr. was racing. She also loved to watch shows involving court cases.

Shirley thoroughly enjoyed life and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to attend family gatherings such as picnics, family reunions, and holidays so she could see and catch up with all of her family.

Shirley had a strong faith in God, with an uncanny ability to put the fear of God into others. She was very good at getting her way.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Karen L. (the late William Jr.) Garthwaite of Reynoldsville, PA, and Carol Mulhollan of Reynoldsville, PA; four grandsons, William (Jenn) Garthwaite III of Reynoldsville, PA, Timothy Phillips of Sykesville, PA, James (Kayla Pearce) Garthwaite of Reynoldsville, PA, and Dustin (Marla) Myers of Rockton, PA; one granddaughter, Shari (Troy) Probst of Reynoldsville, PA; three brothers, Clyde (Mary) Beck of Reynoldsville, PA, Harry (Rita Leiberton) Beck of Reynoldsville, PA, and James (Carol) Beck of DuBois, PA; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald (Margaret) Beck.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E Main St, Reynoldsville, PA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and officiated by Reverend Thomas Carr. Interment will take place at the Reynoldsville Cemetery, Winslow Township, Jefferson County.
