Mary Ann Myers, 71, of Franklin, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at her home. She was born October 19, 1946, in Jacksonville, the daughter of John Wills and Mary Alice Haycraft Gordon. Mary Ann married Ross Myers on February 3, 1968, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, and he survives.

Mary Ann is also survived by three children, Amy (James) Plumhoff of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, John (Stefanie) Myers of Wayne, and Beth (fiancé, Tony Vago) Myers of Ballwin, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jewel Plumhoff, Madeline Plumhoff, Jorie Myers, Drew Myers, Grace Plumhoff, Gordon Myers, and Brooke Myers; one sister, Patty (Keith) Crow of Franklin, one brother, Jimmy (Jonnie) Haycraft of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Lou Gordon, and one brother, William A. Gordon (surviving wife Katherine of Franklin), and her beloved dog Pepper.

Mary Ann graduated from Franklin High School in 1964 and St. John’s School of Nursing in 1967. She worked as a nurse in the Jacksonville community for 43 years, first with Norris Hospital and Dr. E. C. Bone, and then for 26 years with the Morgan County Health Department.

Mary Ann was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin where she loved singing in the choir. She was known as the Franklin “town doctor” and was always available to render aid to those in need. She enjoyed reading, ladybugs, and following the St. Louis Cardinals. Mary Ann was known for her delicious apple pies. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Williamson Funeral Home. A prayer service will be conducted at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
