Andrew Jackson, son of Henry Evander Gibbens and Susan Madita Bishop married Mary Louise Denton, daughter of Benjamin F. Denton and Annie Caroline Lowrance on December 20, 1877 in Kerr Co, TX.

The community was saddened Sunday evening to learn of the death of A. J. "Uncle Jack" Gibbens who pass ed away about 8 o'clock. He had been ill for about a year but was confined to bed for only a short time. Uncle Jack was born November 28, 1859 in Cockrell Hills near Flatonia Texas. He would have been 70 years old this next week. In 1863 he moved to the Hill Country and 16 years later in 1879 he was married to Miss Mary Louise Denton. To this union were born nine children eight of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Henry Barton and Mrs. Will Ridgaway of Kerrville, Mrs. William McBryde and Mrs. Lena Bennett of Center Point and Ernest Gibbens of Alpine all of whom were present at the funeral also there were Mrs Allen Adair of Paris, Ky, Mrs. J. Crenshaw of Dinuba, Calif. and Newton Gibbens of Uniontown, Okla(should be Alabama). Uncle Jack is also survived by one brother Jim Gibbens of San Antonio and his wife. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Turtle Creek cemetery near the old home where Mr. and Mrs. Gibbens lived 40 years prior to moving here. Rev Echert of San Antonio presided over the services. There were many beautiful floral offerings and a number of people followed the remains to their last resting place. He was widely known throughout Kerr county having held several offices. The family has the sympathy of the entire community
