Mary Ellen Boyce is shown as the first child of William Boyce and Phoebe Spiers Boyce in Family Records and in FamilySearch.

Her name is found in Salt Lake City Death Records, page 8, line 308. It appears her name is written as Mary Ellen Byce, but parents are shown as William and Phebe. This record also shows her birth as 11 February 1850 at B. Cottonwood, Salt Lake County, Deseret and died 27 February 1853 of Fever. She is buried at C_11_14.

In old Family History records in my possession, her birth is shown as 11 September 1850. This is also shown in other family records and histories posted online. There are also records that show the 11 February 1850 date. The 1850 Census shows "Mary Boyce" with William and Phebe and shows her age as "1".

There is also an interesting Census record from 1860 that shows the family with a daughter "Ellen" age 12. The only explanation seems to be that the family mentioned to the Census taker a member of the family who had died and it was included on the record.

I have not seen any other evidence that she survived past childhood, and the old Family History records I have also show her death date as 27 February 1853.
