D. Lamar Sarge Jr., 81, of Berwick went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Berwick Hospital.
Lamar was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Shamokin, a son of the late Daniel L. Sarge Sr. and Martha Madara Sarge.
He graduated from Shamokin High School and joined the United States Army, where he attained the rank of sergeant. He worked for ACME Markets for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Knapp Lodge 462 F&AM of Berwick and the East Berwick Fire Company. He attended the Shiloh Bible Church. He enjoyed watching sports of all types, and he played baseball when he was younger. He also enjoyed hunting and camping.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Yeager, whom he married June 18, 1960; a daughter, Lori Bean, of Nescopeck; two sons: Daniel L. Sarge III and his wife, April, of Berwick and Scott A. Sarge and his wife, Shelli, of Nescopeck; five grandchildren: Amanda Slusser, Andrew Sarge, Brent Harmon, Shannon Harmon and Nicole Sarge; and a brother, William Sarge, and his wife, Barb, of Avis.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St.. Berwick, with his pastor, Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating.
