JAMES MURPHY OF LODI PIONEER FAMILY DIES
James A. (Lonnie) Murphy, 86, retired Clements area rancher, died yesterday in a San Leandro hospital after a long illness.
His father, James Murphy, arrived in California by Ox Train and reared nine sons in the Clements area.
After retiring, Mr. Murphy made his home in Castro Valley. His wife, Marintha, died 14 years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John Martak of Castro Valley, Mrs. Lawrence H. Seifert of Stockton and Mrs. Erma McEnemy of Sacramento, and two sons Robert Murphy of Creswell, Ore. and James Murphy of Stockton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of B.C. Wallace and Son followed by interment in Clements Cemetery.
