Born around 1894, she was a daughter of Thomas and Annie Hursey Wilkes and the wife of John J. "Hicks" Huggins. She was survived by two daughters, Mamie Rayburn of Marion, S.C. and Ruby Knighter of Syracuse, NY; brothers, Jim Wilkes of Bingham and Wade McArthur Wilkes of Bennettsville; and sisters, Althea Rowell of McColl, Julia Sports of Blenheim, Omie Williams of Latta, and Annie Wilkes of Clinton.
