William Edgar Palmeter, 69, a native Nebraskan and father of Mrs. Clyde Fitzpatrick, died at 11:25 o'clock Sunday night at his home in Greenwood. He had been suffering from a heart ailment since March, and had spent several weeks at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. His condition took critical turn Sunday evening.
Services were held at 9 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Hobson funeral home. Burial was in Plattsmouth.
Mr. Palmeter was born on a farm near Brownville Feb. 3, 1872. When he was a small boy the family moved to Lyle Minn, where they resided on a farm until Mr. Palmeter was 17 years old.
They then moved to Plattsmouth, and he went to work in the Burlington shops. He learned the blacksmith trade there, and followed the trade during the greater part of his life, working in various towns in Minnesota and Nebraska.
He married Cecelia Hortense Vestal at Plattsmouth Nov. 6, 1892, and they lived, there a number of years. Mrs. Palmeter died March 25, 1931.
Surviving besides Mrs. Fitzpatrick and a granddaughter, Eilene Fitzpatrick of Weeping Water are a sister, Mrs. George T. Bacon of American Falls, Ida., three nephews and seven nieces. A son Charles Edgar died in infancy."
